It is the only resort out of the United States fully owned and operated by The Walt Disney Company. Its properties sit on 4,940 acres (20.0 km2), listed below, and are divided into parks and shopping centers.
Coworth Park is the only hotel in Britain to have its own polo club and fields; the equine theme dominates activities and décor, but there’s also biking and tennis to balance all the riding. Coworth Park Kids’ club is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday (£25 per day), and there’s a teen den with games room, and designated children’s hours at the pool. Grown-ups will love the Michelin-starred restaurant. Big families should go for the Dower House, a private, Grade II-listed, three-bedroomed cottage. Read expert review
We are looking for a nice modern hotel with some space in the room, maybe with a divider. We are staying for 6 nights. Currently looking at the Tryn Hotel, do you know of any similar style, size rooms, price…
You could stay in New Jersey near the PATH train into NYC (Hoboken or Newport are the best choices) – but in general, if you’re here to see New York City then stay in New York City. There are few family-friendly places to stay on the New Jersey side of the river, close to NYC, but one that might work is the Courtyard Jersey City in Newport. It’s about 30 minutes by PATH train to Penn Station and then from there to the various sites you’re interested in. Better to stay at a cheap hotel in New York City.

Where do we go on the East Coast? During the summer months, visit the scenic coast of Maine, stay at a family resort in Vermont, take a trip to New Hampshire, relax on the beach in Cape Cod and enjoy other family vacation spots. Visit the museums of New York, Boston and Philadelphia, dine a family-friendly restaurants, and watch outdoor theater performances with older children. In the winter, plan a ski trip that will let your kids learn how to downhill ski, cross-country ski or snowboards at a New England mountain resort such as Stowe, Killington or Sugarbush.
This haven of Southern hospitality was voted the USA’s friendliest city in 2017 by readers of Condé Nast Traveler magazine. It also was named the No. 1 city south of the Mason-Dixon Line by Southern Living magazine readers. Step back in time by choosing a B&B in an antebellum home in the compact tourist area. Get a view of historic Fort Sumter from the waterfront Battery. Some come to this city just for the cuisine. (You can always diet after you get back home). Acclaimed Hyman’s Seafood won’t drown your budget. FIG —another award winner — serves creative, seasonally inspired cuisine and is worth a splurge.
Just an hour and a half north of Melbourne, Nagambie Lakes is one of Australia’s oldest viticulture areas, with some vines dating back to the mid 19th century. This part of Victoria has long been considered a great day-trip destination for its outdoor activities — waterskiing, rowing, and sailing — and renowned wineries. Now there’s reason to linger, thanks to the November debut of the Mitchelton Hotel, a 58-room resort and spa at Mitchelton Winery. With its fine-dining restaurant, the Ministry of Chocolate, and 5½ miles of trails circumnavigating the vineyard, it’s the perfect base for a weekend in the region. Start your trip with a tasting on-site — Mitchelton is known for its Riesling — before venturing to other nearby wineries like Tahbilk, which has been producing quality vintages since 1861, and Goulburn Terrace, which specializes in natural wines. Other popular local vintners include McPherson Wines, David Traeger Wines, and Box Grove Vineyard. —John Scarpinato
The first place you might head is Central Park, the city’s beautiful back yard. Stop for a park map at the information center at Central Park West and 59th Street or The Dairy Information Center at Mid-Park between 64th and 65th Street and get ready for some fun. Climb the stairs up to Belvedere Castle for the view. Stop at Conservatory Water where you can rent a model boat and the kids can take turns with the remote control, moving it around the pond. Sounds like your children may be too old for playgrounds, but they can work off some energy hiking a path through the Ramble, a section of the park that is still deep woods and streams. You’ll never believe you are in the heart of the city. It’s also fun to join the joggers around the park’s reservoir. If you want to splurge a bit, you can rent bikes and pedal around the park’s 843 acres, stretching from 59th to 110th streets.

Boston has it all—the culture, the fantastic city parks, and a relaxed pace you might not expect in a city of its size. Baseball fanatics, young and not so young, will love Fenway Park, home of the Red Sox. You can take a guided tour, watch a game, and soak up some sporting history. Also check out the giant ocean tank at the New England Aquarium and board a Boston Duck Tour to be transported around this beautiful city on land and water.
Both Hong Kong Disneyland Resort and Disneyland Paris Resort have room for future expansion. Disney has made announcements regarding plans for another American theme park and CEO Robert Iger frequently has cited international expansion as one of the company’s three strategic priorities.
The New York City Ballet begins its spring season and Broadway plays are in full swing in April. Late in the month, the city’s gardens are at their springtime best. Be sure to see the pink crabapple trees and colorful tulips and daffodils in Central Park’s Conservatory Garden. The park also has many lovely cherry blossom trees, but the real cherry blossom show is at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden where the blooms from some 76 varieties of flowering trees are a glorious sight that inspires a Japanese festival in late April every year. Bring your camera!
Mealtimes can be stressful with little ones – especially in a hotel where you’re always on show. Is there a stash of highchairs? Some crayons to keep them occupied? Does the kids’ menu exceed expectations? Is it available via room service? Are staff happy to help?

While summer is in full swing in the northern hemisphere, it’s winter south of the equator. For travelers who can’t wait to get onto their snowboards or skis, a trip to Chile could be just the thing, especially if they’d like to brag about skiing down the side of a volcano. Several popular resorts, Portillo, El Colorado, and Valle Nevado are just hours away from Santiago, and there’s more to Chile in July than snow. Excellent wine is produced in Chile, waiting to be sampled along with their outstanding meat and seafood cuisine. Hiking and mountain biking attract visitors for outdoor adventures, and with clear skies and little light pollution, many stargazing sites are popular with tourists as well. Admirers of art, architecture, history, and shopping will find lots to enjoy in Santiago.
Walt Disney World, located near Orlando, Florida, offers a wide range of attractions for its guests to enjoy, including two water parks, the Downtown Disney Shopping area, golf courses and a selection of hotels and dining establishments. However, the main attractions at Walt Disney World are it’s four theme parks: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios and the Animal Kingdom, each offering its adventure.
New York is busy around the holidays so be prepared for long lines at the most popular attractions – especially Christmas or winter related ones. Eg. The skating rink at Rockefeller Center can have insane lineups. Taxis can be better at times and subway can be better at times – it depends where you’re going (e.g. often going east/west can be faster by taxi as there won’t be a direct subway line). The cost for a family of 4 is often not the deciding factor as 4 tickets on the subway will be just as much as a taxi. That said, Uber is way better than a typical taxi so use it when you don’t want to take the subway.
A trip to Europe is for families who enjoy exploring historic sites, sampling local cuisine and learning about a different culture. Visit Florence, Italy, which is an easy historic city to explore with children. Another great city to visit with kids is New York. Younger children can explore a huge variety of playgrounds, climb on giant statues representing characters from children’s books, visit a zoo, ride on a carousel, visit a planetarium and watch a show at the Marionette Theater.
The Harn’s sizable collection consists of more than 10,000 works of art. As a fundamental part of the University of Florida, exhibitions are thoughtfully curated to pique the minds of visitors and students. Admission is free and the outdoor Asian gardens make the ideal spot to slow down and clear your mind.
A century ago, Shanghai was China’s star city, a cosmopolitan center of art, technology, and finance. Today, it’s reclaiming that mantle, parlaying the economic boom that began in the 1990s into a world-class array of cultural and culinary attractions. On the West Bund riverfront, Tank Shanghai will transform disused oil tanks into a sprawling arts complex with a gallery, an education center, and parks when it’s completed later this year. Farther north, the Norman Foster and Thomas Heatherwick–designed Fosun Foundation, with its façade of shifting bronze cylinders, began hosting performances and art shows last fall. The North Bund is being redeveloped with a park linking it to a new lifestyle development that’s anchored by the city’s first W Hotel. In the residential Minhang district, Cordis debuted in May, and Amanyangyun will open nearby after relocating Ming and Qing dynasty buildings, as well as 10,000 ancient camphor trees, from Jiangxi province. More luxury stays are still to come in 2018, including the Middle House, the Bulgari, and the Edition. —Samantha Culp

We are a family of four (2 adults, 2 kids – 13 and 14 year old). We are looking to pay between $140 to $200 a night for a week stay in NYC in October. Shared family room or 2 separate rooms. We like characterful places near to mid-town. Could you recommend maybe 3 to 4 options? We’re looking at Airbnb also but are getting irritated by the huge discrepancy in the reviews. It makes it impossible to know the truth!
Prior to 1971, Orlando was a rest stop en route to Miami, which means this center has plenty of kitsch Floridiana to enjoy. Of course, it also includes exhibits on prehistoric tribes, Spanish explorers, Florida Crackers, African-American history, the cattle and citrus industries, and the arrival of Walt Disney World, which sparked Orlando’s transition into a modern city. thehistorycenter.org
Rutgers University – Tour the exhibits at the Jane Voorhees Zimmerli Art Museum, which houses more than 60,000 works, or join locals to cheer on the Scarlet Knights as they aim for victory. The 18-hole Rutgers Golf Course is also open to the public if you’re feeling competitive.

Pleasure Island’s core remaining six nightclubs were closed down in late 2008 to change the area to match the family friendly make-up of the other two sections of Downtown Disney at Disney World.
Tiffany pieces take center stage here but the museum includes a nice assortment of late nineteenth-century portraits like John Singer Sargent’s Richard Aldrich C. McCurdy, furnishings by Gallé and art objects by European artists such as Carl Fabergé.
