Eclectic, Classic South Beach HotelExcellent hotel accomodation. This classic, eclectic South Beach hotel, offers good value and excellent food and service for a weekend getaway. Rooms could do with some upgrades ie: new carpets. But on the whole, the facilities are still in great shape.

Guest rooms in the all-suite property offer private terraces, whirlpool tubs and free Wi-Fi access. The all-suite Franklyn D. Resort & Spa promises the usual appeal of sun, sand and sea, and the no-hassle attraction of an all-inclusive setup, but with a bonus: Every arriving family is assigned its own personal vacation nanny. The nanny is on duty all day to take over kid patrol in your suite or accompany your youngsters to the kids’ club, where they’ll have their pick of games, books and activities. Teens and preteens have their own activities, too, including supervised trips to an outdoor campsite, beach parties, fishing, sailing, windsurfing, hiking, all-terrain bicycle trips and other field trips. That leaves Mom and Dad plenty of time to get massages, read books, tackle an adventure of their own, or just enjoy a quiet meal — in an adults-only restaurant — without the constant chorus of little voices clamoring for attention. Be sure to check out the resort’s specials, which include a “bring the grandparents for free” deal, a “family fly free” fall deal and a family reunion package.
Swim-up bars aren’t for adults only at the Hard Rock, where kids can splash down for a “mocktail” and a snack. Circus performers entertain at a poolside amphitheater — the perfect distraction when kids need a break from the waterslide. Angela the Ballerina and Bob the Builder lead activities at the Little Big Club, while teens get their own backstage lounge at the Cavern Club.
Heading to Cancun for a family vacation? With sandy beaches, expansive pool complexes, and excellent snorkeling, there’s no shortage of family-friendly activities in this popular Mexican destination. Resorts with a kids’ club, dining options for picky eaters, and large guest rooms are the best option for travelers with children and teenagers, but some are definitely better than others. Oyster visited the area’s top hotels to compare and evaluate each, so we could tell you which were the best of the best for vacationing families. Take a look at our expert picks for the best kid-friendly hotels in Cancun, and start planning your getaway!
Activities: When you are planning your once-in-a-year resort holiday, you get excited about all of the activities offered at the resort: snorkeling, whale watching, sailing, water skiing, fishing, golf, tennis and various tours. One of the most common complaints that we hear from travelers is that they arrive at a destination and most of the activities are not available. If you are planning a trip to Hawaii for example, humbpack whales can only we seen from December through April while snorkeling is the best in the summer months because in the winter the surf is too rough. While the resort listed both of those activities on its web site, you should make sure that it’s actually available. Check what’s in season. The second complaint is that once you get there, your favorite activity is sold out, so you can’t get a spot on the boat for you and your kids. That’s why it’s important to book at least some of your activities before you get there: golf, spa treatments, tours, Pilates and yoga classes, especially during the holidays and peak travel times. Ask about the cancellation policy and book those activities that will let you cancel a day or two before if you are not sure that you want to do all of them. It’s better to have a reservation that you can cancel than not be able to experience something on vacation.
This property offers transfers from the airport (surcharges may apply). Guests must contact the property with arrival details 72 hours prior to arrival, using the contact information on the booking confirmation. A resort fee is included in the total price displayed.

Moon Palace Golf and Spa Resort is a gigantic all-inclusive luxury resort along Cancun’s Mayan Riviera. With 2,433 rooms across three resort sections — each with their own decor, design, amenities, and appeal — it’s no shock that this is the largest Palace property in the world. Welcome to bustling San Jose, where Silicon Valley meets Spanish history and modern edifices sit alongside meticulously restored 19th-century buildings. Such is the contrast of this city rich in tradition and, thanks to the tech industry, just plain rich. Five star-hotels and fine restaurants line the streets of the restored downtown area, and the cultural scene is thriving with museums, theater and art to rival any world-class hub. Don’t miss the Tech Museum of Innovation, an exploration of Silicon Valley and its impact on the area. History buffs will relish the old mansions and can delve into the city’s past at the History Museum of San Jose. Save time for a round of golf or the locals’ other favorite pastime, sipping coffee and people-watching at a crowded cafe.
About 40 minutes from the Jacksonville airport, the sprawling resort has two large swimming pools (left), a kiddie pool, and its own Nature Center — something that Camp Amelia, a supervised program for kids ages 3 to 10, taps into for activities.

This large maze-like property is arguably the best of the four Princess properties in Punta Cana. Set on a great stretch of slightly less crowded beach in the area of Bavaro, there are 808 condo-style units spread out over seemingly never-ending grounds (families can arrange to have two twin beds added to the rooms for children). The sprawling property allows for more privacy but also means a long walk to the beach and pool area for many guests. The walk can be broken up with a little exploration in the ecological park, which contains rabbits, peacocks, chickens, and parrots; otherwise, guests will have to patiently wait for the tram, which comes around every 15 minutes or so. Decent restaurant options and daily specials allow for dining variety, and the lively (but not too lively) bar scene is a highlight, especially in the lobby for pre-dinner drinks and piano music.
As the biggest section of the Grand Bahia Principe (five hotels within), the Bavaro has a whopping 816 rooms in itself. Rooms are spacious and clean, though they mostly contain outdated decor. Guests at the Bavaro section tend to be families, and those with little ones have access to a number of kid-friendly activities: a water park, basketball court, go-cart track, mini-golf course, tennis courts, and animation activities at the pools and beach. The beach is a great place for building sand-castles while parents relax in the lounge chairs.
Located on the coast of Sarasota, the Resort at Longboat Key Club is nestled on a narrow strip of land between Sarasota Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. A large property, guests will find an impressive 20 tennis courts, an on-site spa and 45 holes of golf. The expansive white sand beach is perfect for a day of making memories in Florida’s brilliant sunshine, while the six on-site restaurants are ready for when you’re ready to refuel. A year-round Camp Loggerhead is available for kids, while mother and daughter manicures and pedicures and guided kayak tours through the mangroves offer unique family experiences. Guests are also only 5 miles from the famous Marie Selby Botanical Gardens and only a 15-minute drive from the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art.
Spa Resorts: Spa resorts are designed for couples, girlfriends, guys and single travelers who want to check in for a few days of pampering and relaxation while also having access to many restaurants, watersports and land activities. These getaways often offer packages, nutrition counseling, as well as healthy and low calorie cuisine at the restaurants. Some of the spa resorts are located near the ocean, giving you the added benefit of amazing coastal views, while others were built around natural mineral springs. There are many amazing spa resorts in the US, Europe, Asia. Middle East, India, Africa, South Africa, South Pacific, Hawaii and other destinations.

The benefit of vacationing at an all-inclusive resort is simple: everything is included. There’s no need to budget extra money for meals and activities at the resort, you can simply relax and enjoy. And doing so surrounded by the beauty of Mexican beaches is an ideal getaway for many. But when traveling out of the country, it can be difficult to determine which all-inclusive property is worth the splurge. That’s why U.S. News used the overall scores from its 2016 Best Hotels in Mexico ranking and additional data to rank only properties that offer all-inclusive packages. So if you’re ready for an all-inclusive experience in Mexico, try one of these resorts on for size. (Courtesy of Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit)

The renowned beach is the highlight, and there’s a large pool adjacent to the sand with a swim-up bar, snack area, and kids section with slides. For food, guests can choose between the main buffet and a range of a la carte restaurants that require a reservation, or use the 24-hour room service. Golf, tennis, late-night bars, and free Wi-Fi are also available.

A white-sand beach may look inviting on the photo, but if you are traveling with kids they will need more than just a secluded beach to make them happy. Pick a resort that will have all of the features that you want, plus new activities that you can try if the mood strikes. There are so many world-class resorts with spas, golf, sailboats, catamarans, kids’ clubs and other facilities that you should not settle for less than perfection. Even if you need to find something affordable last minute, you will have plenty of options in Florida, California, Arizona, Las Vegas, Vermont, Canada and in the Caribbean.
One of several popular beaches in York, Short Sands Beach has sand, surf, a playground, and even an arcade. Have a picnic at Ellis Park then spend the afternoon at York’s Wild Kingdom, the largest zoo and amusement park in Maine. Take the trolley to Long Sands Beach for views of the Cape Leddick Lighthouse before heading to the “Surfing Only” area to pick up pointers from the surfers.

This family-friendly all-inclusive resort with 658 suites has an attractive setting, affordable prices, and a compact layout (no shuttle) that puts everyone within walking distance to the beach. It’s a popular place for Americans, and the resort can sometimes feel overrun by destination wedding groups. Food is not the highlight here (and reservations can be frustrating); the beach is the biggest draw, and there is also a large and lengthy pool area that runs the length of the resort (the kids’ club has a separate pool with slides, plus a playground), a number of bars, and a charismatic animation team. Rooms have classic, romantic style and marble bathrooms with jetted tubs (indoor or outdoor), but do show some wear and tear. A range of non-motorized water sports are included with the price.

What is a resort fee? Many resorts in the US and abroad add a daily resort fee to your final bill. What is that all about? The fee is typically charged per person per day and can range from $12 USD to over $30. The resort fee is supposed to cover access to common areas and facilities such as the pools, self parking, live entertainment in the lobby and beach toys, although that is not always the case. It’s always a good idea to check ahead of time what’s included. Can you avoid paying the resort fee? No! When you stay at a resort that charges a daily resort fee, consider this a mandatory cost. Local and federal taxes are added on top of that. It’s important to be informed about all these fees and charges ahead of time because they can add to to an additional 30% on top of the bill.
A short walk or shuttle ride from quiet Silver Strand Beach, this resort offers so many family activities daily — from cooking your own pizza to animal presentations to family movies shown poolside — that it has a separate kids’ activity desk to help keep you informed. Summer rates start at $329 nightly, and that includes a welcome gift for the kids.

The Marriott Kauai is a beach bum’s paradise. With the best beach on Kauai, kids will never be bored body surfing, snorkeling, taking surf lessons, or just playing in the waves. And that’s not the only reason this is a great hotel for families: It also has the biggest single-level pool (26,000 square feet!) in Hawaii, with five Jacuzzis and waterfalls. The Marriott also makes it easy to stay with your kids; the standard room can sleep up to four people, rollaways, cribs, and high chairs are free, and Marriott’s Activity Zone Experience offers age-appropriate kids activities.
If you and the kids need to take a break from the sun, you could retreat to the Atlantis Theatre for a free G- or PG-rated flick, or to the new pottery studio (prices start at $15). But this resort is really best for families who never seem to tire of the water and who have at least one child who is 6 or older so you’re not paying for attractions that your children are too small to use. Reservations: 800-285-2684, atlantis.com.

Kids will probably love the kiddy pool — complete with a playground — the wave pool with a slide, the lazy river, and the daily activities at the kids’ club. There is also a golf course and several tennis courts available.

“Each restaurant catered to different needs, Boma was great for breakfast buffet and large family dining, Jiko fine dining at its best pleasing to your palate as you feel you are traveling through the wine regions…”
Puerto Rico’s Las Casitas Village has long been one of our favorite resorts in the Caribbean. But now it’s even better, having introduced an all inclusive package in 2016. The package includes accommodations in its luxurious condos; three meals daily; select alcoholic (and non-alcoholic) beverages; and best of all, access to Coqui Water Park! The package also includes access to all of the resort’s fantastic amenities, including Palomino Island, an exclusive island for guests of the resort. There, you can rent water sports, go for a hike, grab a bite to eat, or simply relax by the teal-blue waters.
Amenities are infinite at Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa, and each family member will find something they like. While parents relax at the spa or play a game of golf, kids can head to Camp Hyatt, where they’ll enjoy everything from feeding Koi fish to lei making. For a day of family fun, go scuba diving, mountain biking or swimming in one of the hotel’s sparkling pools. At night, dance under the stars at a traditional luau. Families like to stay in the Garden View Two Beds room, which features two queen beds fitted with luxurious sheeting over a pillow-top mattress, an extra large marble bath and Portico products. Cribs are also available upon request.
If your kids prefer skiing over surfing, check out Ski Portillo, the most renowned ski resort in the southern hemisphere. Your all-inclusive Chilean vacation includes seven nights of accommodations at a hotel that is the ultimate in hassle-free family ski vacations, because everything originates from there. Also included: seven days of lift tickets, four meals a day, and all amenities at the resort, including the fitness center, pool, and yoga classes. Ski Portillo also offers a kids’ game room, climbing wall and movies. Scheduled activities each week for kids include learning to make bread, races, tubing and a torchlight parade. Free childcare is available for kids ages 4-7. Complimentary transfers from Santiago are included. It’s recommended guests book at least 60 days out. Prices start at $2,100 per person for the week, based on double occupancy. Kids under age 4 are always free. They also offer “kids free weeks” when kids ages 4-17 stay, ski and dine free.
The 202-room Costa Sur Resort and Spa is a multi-story property that offers guests a lot of bang for their peso: a private beach, spacious suites with kitchens and ocean views, optional all-inclusive meal packages, and a fun kids’ club. Located 10 minutes outside of Puerto Vallarta’s main strip, this hotel is distanced from noise and pollution but still well placed for exploring with a car. Rooms could use a refresh, but there is a peaceful adults-only pool, a separate big pool for families, fitness center, and water sports all on-site.
The 426-room Iberostar Cancun is an upscale, all-inclusive, chain hotel set in a pyramid-shaped building along the Nichupte Lagoon’s expansive beach, just a 15-minute drive from Cancun Airport. There are a huge range of activities on offer, such as tennis and golf, and lots for kids to do, too. It’s worth noting, however, that the hotel hosts a large number of conventions, meaning big groups sometimes dominate the place. The modern rooms feature contemporary decor and many have stunning views of the Caribbean Sea, while some also offer access to hot tubs or infinity pools. The grounds include a huge pool, though accompanying poolside music can get annoying. Dining options are varied, but food gets mixed reviews.
The 149-room Sundial Beach Resort & Spa is a family-friendly, upper-middle-range property situated on a beautiful private beach. The hotel offers a wide array of amenities that include five outdoor pools, tennis courts, a full-service spa, and a modern fitness center. There are a variety of dining options, including a stylish cafe with gulf views, as well as a pizzeria, bakery, and a pool and beach bar. Kids are well catered for with a sea school that offers plenty of activities like nature walks and classes, and the resort also offers free rentals of bikes, paddleboards, and kayaks (though there is an obligatory resort fee that covers this). Studios and one-, two-, and three-bedroom suites offer kitchens, living rooms, and screened patios, some with beachfront views.
“My husband and I love the beach and we were so happy to celebrate such a special event with our family and friends at our happy place Thanks to Amanda and everyone at the Sirata, it was a beautiful, wonderful time…”
Moon Palace Golf and Spa Resort is a gigantic all-inclusive luxury resort along Cancun’s Mayan Riviera. With 2,433 rooms across three resort sections — each with their own decor, design, amenities, and appeal — it’s no shock that this is the largest Palace property in the world. The fabulous kids club by Nizuc has a number of separately decorated and designed rooms with different purposes, giving kids a buffet of imaginative options to keep them entertained. Some of our favorite spaces include the mini racetrack complete with kid-sized small plastic cars to take for a spin; the glamorous and glizty, all-pink beauty salon/fashion runway room; the arcade; the art room; and life-sized doll house room — just to name a few. There’s also a snack bar, outdoor playground, and mini-theater.
We offer the little things, like cribs and pack-and-plays, beach chairs, towels and umbrellas, a convenient market next to the pool for snacks and food on-the-go. But we offer big things, too, like day and night time kids’ programs, child care services, a variety of kid-friendly restaurants with great kids’ menus, suites that come with bunk beds in a little private alcove. To parents, these things go a long way toward making family vacations enjoyable, relaxing and hassle-free – which is the whole point.
We’ve chosen our favorite all inclusive Caribbean family resorts, with popular destinations, family ratings, various budget ranges and consistent deals in mind. Plus, our editors and writers have personally visited these all inclusive Caribbean resorts and loved them as much as you will.
Cape Cod is a favorite year after year and Coast Guard Beach is perfect for long walks and building sand castles as a family. At the Salt Pond Visitor Center, pick up the park newspaper for the scoop on ranger-led nature walks and Junior Ranger programs. Ride bikes along one of three paved bike trails or go kayaking through the famous salt marshes.

The 300-room, Mexican-owned Royal Solaris is an upper-middle-range property with a ton of resort features, including a water park in the kids club. This resort is best-suited to families on a budge and it boasts itself as a resort for families. Royal Solaris doesn’t drop the ball when it comes to the kids’ club. If they ever leave the water, there is also an indoor area with activities for most kids up to 12.
This family favorite spreads across 22 acres on Oahu, the easiest (and usually cheapest) Hawaiian island to get to from the States. Even though summer is the most expensive time to visit, you can still snag a room at the Hilton for as low as $229 nightly; rooms in the beachfront Rainbow Tower or the more upscale Ali’I Tower will cost you about $100 more.

The Verandah Resort & Spa only offers 180 rooms, creating an intimate atmosphere — you’ll quickly come to know staff members and even other guests. The resort itself, however, still manages to encompass 30 acres of Antigua, with two beaches, four pools (including one just for kids), a mini-golf course, playground, kids’ club and a teen hangout. Be sure to sneak over to Long Bay Beach, just a short walk from the lobby and a great beach for families.
San Diego is an ideal pick for families looking for spring break fun with loads of diversity. There’s the beach, of course, but there are also great parks, cool museums and two fantastic zoos. The San Diego Zoo in Balboa Park is a sprawling and hilly enclave made up of nine unique zones spread out over 100 acres. Plan on spending a few hours checking out the polar bears, elephants and gorillas, and hop on the guided bus to learn about the animals and give your legs a rest. A great budget-friendly all-inclusive option is the YMCA of the Rockies in Colorado. Guests experience outdoor adventure activities from hiking to fly-fishing, swimming, zip-lining, horseback riding, arts and crafts, ice-skating, roller skating, swimming, yoga, dog sledding, nature hikes and archery. Hawks Cay Resort has the feel of a small village, due to its massive size and many amenities — the property even has its own 85-slip marina. Many guests arrive by boat, as the resort is located on Duck Key, a secluded spot far from Key West’s main airport. The property largely attracts families looking for a quiet vacation, thanks in part to family-friendly features such as adolphin experience, kids’ club, and multi-bedroom villas. Plus, the beach has calm waters, though some guests may be disappointed by its small size. There is not much to do outside the resort, however, due to the remote location.
Excellent property. Very comfortable roomsStaff were extremely helpful. Rooms were super clean and comfortable. Luis-Kenner was really helpful and always willing to help us out. His and the other staff members’ bubbly personalities made tour stay quite pleasurable.

A favorite beach for many on Oahu, Kailua Beach Park boasts turquoise blue waters, plenty of free parking and lots of family-friendly water activities, like kayaking and boogie boarding. Kids will love watching the kite surfers, maybe even more than a trip to Island Snow for shave ice. Kalapawai Market is located at the park entrance, so pick up some deli sandwiches for an afternoon picnic on the beach.
The Coral Lagoon Resort & Marina has 25 airy, cheerful cottage units that dwarf typical hotel rooms. They’re tasteful and homey, with a tropical color palate of yellows, greens, and blues; full kitchens; porches; and high-tech amenities including flat-screen TVs with cable, DVD players, and iPod docks. Its location on Marathon makes it popular with sport fishermen, and the property’s marina make it especially convenient for guests with boats. The lack of services makes it a better fit for do-it-yourself travelers, but families will appreciate the space and the decently sized pool.
You can book all-inclusive resorts with or without airfare. Just select your local airport to look for the best airfare to get to your all-inclusive resort of choice. Or, you can price the resort without air, in case you want to use frequent flier miles or happen to be an airline employee. In some instances — especially at the very last minute — the resort-only price may be all that is available.

This resort is best-suited to families on a budge and it boasts itself as a resort for families. Royal Solaris doesn’t drop the ball when it comes to the kids’ club. After following a set of tiny colorful footprints, kids are led up a small set of stairs toward an animal-themed water park, full of slides, fountains, and adventure courses. If they ever leave the water, there is also an indoor area with activities for most kids up to 12.
Check out the newly renovated Tony’s Bar & Grill; now offering a variety of delicious FRESH food and beverages, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic selections. There is also access from the pool to order from a sliding glass window so guests don’t need to dry off and come into the cold air. Or sit poolside while enjoying one of many refreshing beverages at our poolside bar.
The 1,600-room Palace Deluxe is the main resort at the Barcelo Bavaro complex, and features tons of on-site features including an attractive spa, a 24-hour casino, four pools, and 11 restaurants. But aside from substantial lines at the front desk, the guest capacity of the resort rarely shows: Guests do not have to search for spots at the pools and beach, and reservation requirements keep restaurants well organized. Couples, families, and partiers all mingle seamlessly at the property. Though the adults-only sister property has a slightly more romantic vibe, plenty of couples opt to stay here as it is where most of the features are located. The hotel’s rooms feature iPod docks, flat-screen TVs, and attractive, sleek decor.

The Rincon Beach Resort was new to us and we were pleasantly surprised to find this hidden gem. It has beautiful views, great pool and bar and beach areas and is near local restaurants. …

Far removed from the hustle and bustle of Seven Mile Reef, families turn to the Reef Resort for a less developed side of the Cayman Islands. Rooms are located just steps away from the 1,600-foot beach, with most rooms one-bedroom suites with full kitchens and two twin beds in a pull-down living room space. All-inclusive options include a limited menu and soft drinks, a full dining menu and drinks, or a fully inclusive package of food, drinks and activities on the beach, including kayaks, sailing, snorkeling, beach bicycles and water trampolines.

“Great hotel and near downtown very friendly staff beautiful suites. It felt like a resort type experience. The Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort in Miramar Beach is a pretty, sprawling property with a total of 1600 rooms. It is organized like a little town that can be broken down into four resorts and 30 separate neighborhoods — each with different decor and price range. Depending on the size of their group and budget, guests can choose between a standard hotel room, condo, villa, or town home. In addition to a village and market full of shops, restaurants, and entertainment, this resort is brimming with recreational activities: a 98-slip marina, 15 tennis courts, 19 pools, four golf courses, and over seven miles ofbeachfront.
The Iberostar mega-complex is made up of four neighboring properties, and the 500-room Iberostar Dominicana is perhaps the best option for families given its more compact size and adjoining rooms. It’s also popular with couples, who can likely appreciate the romantic, manicured grounds and fountains, while partiers can take advantage of the lively scene at the pool and beach bars. The beach here is renowned for a reason, but the chairs nearest to the ocean often get snagged in the early morning. With access to the golf course, tennis center, late-night disco and quality food and beverage options, it’s a stand-out option for the low price. Just don’t expect to be wowed by room decor, or have free Wi-Fi.
Pier 60 is the place to be in Clearwater Beach for spectacular sunsets and a nightly sunset festival that includes live music, magicians, stilt walkers and local artisans. The crystal clear, warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico makes this a great choice for families. Book a dolphin cruise or take to the sky for parasailing. Look to nearby Caladesi Island State Park for great shelling.

Though it’s billed as a stand-alone property, The Ridge Luxury Villas at Playa Grande is actually a wing of the much larger Playa Grande Resort & Grand Spa. The Ridge has two rooftop pools of its own, including a kids’ one with a waterslide. Features at the larger resort are also available to guests, and Cabo San Lucas’ marina is five to 10 minutes away on foot. The 98 apartment-style rooms are large and classic, with kitchenettes, flat-screen TVs, and ocean-view balconies. While the collective list of amenities isn’t missing much, some guests may find the dated nature of some common areas less than appealing.
Club Med all inclusive family resorts will let you enjoy a perfect family vacation and keep the whole family happy. If so many parents trust us with their vacations, it’s because they know their children are going to leave happy and having grown personall…
Comfortable accommodations……room to breatheSince we spent three nights at the hotel, it was great to have more than just a room with a couple of beds. The accommodations were comfortable, the staff was very helpful and quick to respond with any questions we had and it was a great place to call “home” for a few days.
Look for packages: Resort packages can be some of the best ways to save and get a change to try great new activities for less. Check out our vacation packages section which we sorted by interest (spa, golf, luxury, couples) and type of traveler (honeymooners, couples, families). Look for packages that include amenities that you actually plan to use because you can’t get a refund on an unused portion of the package such as a spa credit or a round of golf. Make sure that you are actually saving money by adding up the cost of all the parts of the package: room rate, parking fee, taxes, cost of a massage, breakfast, etc.
Located in the heart of Orlando’s tourism district on 24 acres, Nickelodeon Suites Resort features Nickelodeon’s signature brand and style throughout all 777 suites, its two water parks, Studio Nick, the Kid’s Spa, the 4-D Experience, Code 9 Teen Lounge, and a 3,000-square-foot Arcade.
The Dominican Republic is a favorite Caribbean destination renowned for its sugary soft sand, tall towering palm trees and tropical sightseeing. Southwest Vacations offers many beach vacation packages where you can stay, play, and explore this famous tropical island. Relax and rejuvenate at the beach with a morning of sunbathing and swimming in the inviting calm water. Then, spend a lazy afternoon with a drink and a book under the shade of a palm tree or head out on the town for a little shopping.
Nearly 38 miles long, the Assateague Island National Seashore is a protected wildlife sanctuary. Stay in nearby Chincoteague or camp out on the beach of this barrier island. Kids will love hiking, clamming, crabbing and fishing on the beach, but the main attraction is the wild ponies, which have roamed the beaches and saltwater marshes since the 1600s.
Tipping is generally not required at restaurants in all-inclusive resorts because it is included in the total cost of the vacation, and some properties even forbid it! Employees associated with activities, sports or excursions that are not included in your all-inclusive package, such as baggage personnel, tour guides, golf caddies, etc., are customarily tipped. If you have questions about when gratuities are or are not included, feel free to ask your Vacations To Go travel counselor.

From Cupertino to Sunnyvale to Santa Clara to San Jose proper, San Jose, California, is an expansive area that is better known as Silicon Valley. Here is where the U.S.’s leading software and technology companies got their start, including Apple, which operates its campus in Cupertino. Facebook has a campus here. Google, too. That said, the area hotels are often filled during the week with business travelers.

This charming mid-range bed-and-breakfast is close enough to Key West action to be considered convenient, but secluded enough to still be a relaxing retreat. With the Ambrosia within fast walking distance of Duval Street, Mallory Square, and the historic seaport, guests often venture out after enjoying the free daily breakfast served in a gazebo, but they can also be seen relaxing in the hotel’s two pools, hot tub, or courtyard. There are 20 rooms here, each with its own distinctive theme, size, and pricing. Situated in a former tropical nursery, the grounds are lush and a popular site for destination weddings. Children under 10 stay for free.
Needs UpdatingAs a regular Hyatt visitor, I found this hotel somewhat dated and in need of a refresh. Our particular Ocean Front view room was quite oddly arranged, and had probably not been updated since the late 1980s or early 1990s. The resort setting is beautiful, but unfortunately the hotel is very crowded, …
The five-pearl Banyan Tree Mayakoba is one of Playa del Carmen’s most sought-after resorts — and not just be couples celebrating a honeymoon or anniversary. When it comes to traveling with kids, you’ll want to book a family-friendly hotel. With Hotels.com, you can book a family- or kid-friendly hotel in San Jose for as low as $13 per night. Most family-friendly hotels are situated close to major attractions. Being within walking distance or a short commute to your favorite family attraction will eliminate all those are-we-there-yets (or at least keep them to a minimum).
“The property is very clean, modern and welcoming. The Breakfast with a Omelette station was a plus. I would definitely come back to this hotel. Staff is very helpful with information. This is our place when in San Jose, CA.”

Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas is renowned as a popular family-friendly destination, but few realize the resort is made up of a number of various properties. One of our favorites is the Harborside Resort, which is a marina village of colorful villas, a bit more removed from the craziness of the enormous resort. What is there to enjoy at Atlantis? Aquariums, kids’ clubs, water parks, gardens, a zoo, fantasy camps, water sports, a pirate museum, multiple pools and, of course, beaches. Not all activities and amenities are included in an Atlantis stay, but packages can be arranged for a more inclusive vacation.
Venture out to Playa Sucia and Parque de Bombas, and see why travelers like the destination’s beaches and culture in Puerto Rico Island. Other top attractions include La Fortaleza – Palacio de Santa Catalina, San Juan Gate, and San Juan Cathedral.

A kids’ haven that’s not quite directly on the beach, this 525-room all-inclusive resort one-ups King Neptune with what’s billed as the largest resort water park in all of the Caribbean. Rooms are upscale and some categories have big whirlpool tubs; Family Suites with bunk beds are available. Restaurant options include a buffet, three a la carte restaurants, and multiple bars, and guests also have access to some options at sister property next door, the Royalton Punta Cana.
For each property, we researched how much it would cost for a week’s vacation for a family of four during the summer months. The resort rates spanned from $99 to $750 per night. We automatically nixed the priciest half of the list and asked the remaining resorts if they had a supervised children’s program, free activities that parents and young kids could enjoy together, a children’s pool or shallow end of a larger pool, and lifeguards or other staff certified in CPR stationed near the pool. Then we pared down further, asking about the size of the rooms, smoking policies, what’s on the children’s menus, and other facts you’d want to know. In the end, we uncovered these 10 good-value getaways — some high-energy, others laid-back, and all great fun for both you and the kids — plus 10 more great runners-up to consider.
Only Beaches has the biggest waterparks in the Caribbean, where kids of all ages will have a blast. Pirates Island is a fantasy world filled with gigantic waterslides, kid‐friendly pools and swim‐up soda bars. There are also water cannons, whirlpools and lazy river journeys*, as well as the Caribbean’s only surf simulator.*
Free activities — including sing-alongs, a campfire with s’mores, family beach walks with a nature expert, a craft hour especially for toddlers, and an “unbirthday” party with cupcakes, games, and a pinata — center on old-fashioned family fun rather than on meeting Disney characters. In fact, only Goofy makes a regular appearance at the resort and that’s at special breakfasts on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
The Dominican Republic is also the perfect place to experience thrills and excitement. River rafting, snorkeling with sting rays, ziplining, and catamaran cruises are just the start to the many fun activities and adventures that you can take advantage of on your vacation. Take a safari to explore even more of Punta Cana. Visit sugar plantations or take a breathtaking helicopter tour of the island where you’ll have a bird’s eye view of the gorgeous coast. Take ATVs for an exhilarating ride through the rainforest or slow things down with a horseback ride where you can admire the surroundings through Punta Cana’s rocky mainland.
With 29 waterslides, the waterpark at the Sandos Caracol is one of the biggest in Mexico and irresistible to adventurous kids. What really sets this resort apart, though, is its Xcalacoco heritage program, which includes daily activities like wilderness hikes, interactive traditional ceremonies, Mayan ball games, and classes on jungle survival skills.
We were here for the Far Western Swim championship in Santa Clara. It was 12 minutes away but no traffic. We spent alot of time resting in our room but did manage to see the Winchester House which was less than 10 minutes away. Lots to do if your vacationing. San Jose is a central location.
The largest of four Paradisus resorts in Punta Cana, this 683-room property still manages to feel uncrowded due to its expansive grounds. Guests can expect to walk or hitch rides on the regular shuttle service to get to the beach, pools, luxury spa, yoga studio and impressive restaurants around the resort; there are also bike stations for those who prefer to cycle. The beach doesn’t quiet down at night as it can at other resorts, but rather comes alive with a party scene appealing to both young and old. The Royal Service upgrade — expect a sales pitch upon arrival — allows access to the private lounge and a separate pool and beach area.
The ultra-luxurious seaside resort has 160 rooms and villas with massive flat-screen TVs, entertainment systems, air-conditioning, and terraces — many with ocean views. One&Only is right on one of the area’s only swimmable beaches, but it also features two gorgeous pools, including the family-friendly Agua pool. The hotel’s kids’ club is packed with all manner of entertainment for kids, including games, a jungle gym, movies, and video games. It’s supervised all day long and kids are often taken to the pool to splash around.

Comfortable accommodations……room to breatheSince we spent three nights at the hotel, it was great to have more than just a room with a couple of beds. The accommodations were comfortable, the staff was very helpful and quick to respond with any questions we had and it was a great place to call “home” for a few days.

The Beachside Village is a charming New England-style resort with views over the Atlantic Ocean. Travelers have rated it the second-best hotel in the United States for customer service, and it’s easy to see why. Making the guests’ stays special is priority number one here. It’s a perfect choice for pet owners, with a pet-friendly policy and even a dog-walking service. The resort also offers a variety of complimentary activities, including paddleboards, tennis facilities, and ocean kayaks. There’s also weekly Friday Sunset Socials held at the side of one of the resort’s two heated pools. Grand Fiesta Americana is away from the main party atmosphere of Cabo San Lucas; its peaceful location and appealing all-inclusive rates are big reasons why so many families (and couples) opt to stay here. Kids can keep entertained at the spacious and cheerful kids’ club, packed with toys, art supplies, games, and computers, while parents enjoy the nearby golf courses and serene spa. The resort has several sparkling pools for activities and relaxing (the ocean here is often pretty rough and not suitable for swimming).

Great locationThe reception at the hotel was warm and friendly. Very helpful when we arrived late in the evening. Clean, tidy room with comfortable beds and everything you need for a one night stay. Breakfast was a welcome addition to start the day off.
One of Riviera Maya’s most sophisticated properties is also one of its family-friendliest: The Grand Velas offers a wide array of fun activities for kids and teens, including beach Olympics, movies, Wiis, treasure hunts, crafts, and painting. The hotel is divided into three sections; families are welcome at the Zen and Ambassador buildings — both featuring kids’ clubs  with daily activities and plenty of connecting rooms — but note that kids under 12 are not allowed in the Grand Class section. There are kid-friendly menus at most of the eight restaurants, free non-motorized water sports, and babysitting services for a fee.
Punta Cana, Dominican Republic is famous for its long stretch of sandy beaches and luxurious all-inclusive resorts with pampering spas, exciting restaurants and countless nearby attractions. Many of Punta Cana’s hotels are located right on the beach and offer all the best amenities and entertainment. Did you know that most Punta Cana resorts also include an on-site casino? If that piques your interest, be sure to browse our gambling vacation packages to Punta Cana. There are many beautiful resorts throughout the Dominican Republic, so take your pick!
The Westin Lagunamar Ocean Resort is located along the turquoise waters of the Caribbean. With a lovely beach, attractive facade, and well-groomed property, this resort offers quality in the heart of Cancun’s Hotel Zone. Rooms are either studios or villas, and both are complete with living areas, balconies, kitchens, washer/dryers, great for those traveling with kids. There are on-site restaurants serving international cuisine and the Tierra Market provides ingredients for guests to cook in fully equipped kitchens. Plus, there’s a nice staffed kids’ club with daily activities, and an all-inclusive dining program for children ages 12 and younger.

Here you’ll find 7 Miami all-inclusive accommodations, and no one can outdo our deals. And when you take a look at our review section, where you can learn all the things to know about Miami and the Miami area, you’ll be certain you get what you really want. Did you know that Miami is also known as “The Magic City”? That’s just one of the things you’ll learn, plus:
For families who want to be active from morning until night, head to Hilton Head for kayaking, tennis, crabbing, stand-up paddleboarding, and of course, splashing in the waves at Coligny Beach. Rent bikes at Hilton Head Outfitters in Palmetto Dunes. It’s the best way to explore the island. Go on a boat cruise with Pirates of Hilton Head or fly through the sky at Zipline Hilton Head.
Tops on parents’ wish list are activities to keep Junior occupied; a plentiful and always-available supply of kid-friendly food (think buffets); family-friendly sleeping arrangements; and even an extra set of hands to ensure that Mom and Dad get a break, too.
About 40 minutes from the Jacksonville airport, the sprawling resort has two large swimming pools (left), a kiddie pool, and its own Nature Center — something that Camp Amelia, a supervised program for kids ages 3 to 10, taps into for activities.
For wide beaches, a 4-acre beachfront park and plenty of space to play, even with your dog, head to St. Augustine Beach in St. Augustine. Walk along the shores where Spanish explorers landed so many years ago, then let the kids go wild at the splash park on the pier. Spend time at nearby Anastasia State Park where you can bike on the beach and paddle in a saltwater lagoon.
A child of the ’90s, the 617-room, upper-middle-range Crown Paradise Club Cancun is a one-stop shop for budget-friendly all-inclusive vacations. Rooms come with postcard-worthy Caribbean Sea views, marble floors, contemporary (if basic) bathrooms, and private outdoor space (upgrades include in-room jacuzzis and minibars). In addition to multiple pools, a small gym, spa, and 24-hour spots to grab a bite or a drink, the Crown Paradise is unparalleled in keeping kids of all ages entertained from a baby club, to an enviable kids-only water park, to teens club. There’s also plenty of adult-only space for singles and couples, although this is primarily a family hotel.
Business guests seeking hotels near San Jose airport (SJC) have many reasons to choose this all-suite facility. An on-site Business Center is open daily. In addition, Silicon Valley companies like Cisco, IBM, eBay, Paypal, Cavium Networks, Nvidia, Huawei, Hitachi and ServiceNow are nearby.
Gorgeous sandy beaches and warm weather year-round make Florida one of the top destinations for family vacations. Whether you’re towing kids to Orlando to see Disney characters, or heading further south to Miami, there are resorts throughout the Sunshine State geared toward the traveling family. We’ve visited numerous hotels to compare their kid-friendly features — from pools with waterslides to supervised activities for younger guests — and find the best of the best. Check out the best family resorts in Florida and start planning your getaway!
CasaMagna Marriott features top-notch restaurants, pools, and meeting rooms, as well as lovely guest rooms and suites that feature modern amenities and contemporary furnishings. Housed in two towers, this upscale hotel is memorable primarily for its sumptuous Ohtli Spa and adjacent fitness center with indoor lap pool, but it is a solid pick for families too. Great kid-friendly amenities include a kiddy pool, table tennis, volleyball courts, kids’ and teens’ clubs, and a seasonal sea turtle rescue program.
The beauty of an all-inclusive vacation is that you can put your wallet away and relax once you reach your destination. The Club Med Punta Cana caters to families with oceanfront family suites and even simplifies your packing by making baby essentials, like bathtubs, strollers and even baby food, available for your use.
Spacious suites at Dreams Playa Mujeres have plenty of room for a family of five, and sibling rivalries can be settled with a race down twin, 328-foot waterslides in the resort’s waterpark. The Mayan-themed Explorer’s Club has a planetarium (the Maya were amazing astronomers) and a pyramid-shaped climbing wall.
Families often look for all-inclusive packages in order to provide an easy, affordable, and stress-free vacation for all. Not only do these hotels offer comfortable rooms, they also provide lots of activities to keep every member of the family happy, whether it’s reading a book by the beach or taking a spin on a sea kayak. Some all-inclusive resorts even include water parks and educational day camps for kids under 12.
