Family Of Five All Inclusive Resorts | Articles and Reviews at Family Travel Blog

We are traveling to NYC on a 2 week roadtrip with 4 kids. I have read some places that it is better to stay in NJ and take public transportation into the city. Would you advise? Can you recommend a good budget friendly hotel on the NJ side that is easy access to NYC. We plan to spend all of our time going to the Statue of Liberty, Times Square, Central Park are our “must-sees”. Any help? Thanks in advance! Ashley
Here’s another that’ s perfect for a trip with the kids, Ripley’s entertains visitors with weird and quirky interactive displays and oddities. With an interesting combination of science and strange, you will be amazed at all the unique items you encounter.
Some popular resorts in Florida include The Breakers which has many family-friendly facilities and programs, Doral with its pool complex and famous golf courses, and The Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island with its Ritz Kids program. The biggest permanent big top in the world can be found rising in all its colorful glory in Las Vegas. More than 3.5 million people a year stop by to experience the live entertainment and whimsy that Circus Circus has to offer. The resort lies on 70 acres of land, and with nearly 3,800 rooms, it’s the fifth-largest resort-casino in Vegas.
The first place you might head is Central Park, the city’s beautiful back yard. Stop for a park map at the information center at Central Park West and 59th Street or The Dairy Information Center at Mid-Park between 64th and 65th Street and get ready for some fun. Climb the stairs up to Belvedere Castle for the view. Stop at Conservatory Water where you can rent a model boat and the kids can take turns with the remote control, moving it around the pond. Sounds like your children may be too old for playgrounds, but they can work off some energy hiking a path through the Ramble, a section of the park that is still deep woods and streams. You’ll never believe you are in the heart of the city. It’s also fun to join the joggers around the park’s reservoir. If you want to splurge a bit, you can rent bikes and pedal around the park’s 843 acres, stretching from 59th to 110th streets.
Whether the kids are cooling off at the pool, having a blast at the splash park, or hanging out at the Lucky Kids’ Club, the all-inclusive IBEROSTAR Playa Mita offers tons of activities and events that will make your family vacation one to remember.

The permanent exhibitions on African art are simply breathtaking, and the lifeblood of the museum is modern design and contemporary art. What’s the secret to a great family vacation? Finding a location that allows everyone to explore and have fun — at their own pace. A spot where the kids (most likely bursting with energy) can have a blast while you enjoy a relaxing massage and a margarita…or several margaritas. (Go ahead — it’s vacation.) And generally a beach destination can deliver on all these fronts. So we’ve rounded up the best kid-friendly, tropical vacation spots that feature safe and fun places to play, kid-friendly restaurants, and all sorts of activities, even if the sun goes into hiding for a day or two. And Mom and Dad will be just as happy at these spots as well.
Although this Playa del Carmen hotel includes “liquor drips” with free tequila right in your hotel room, it’s not a destination for spring breakers as no parties are allowed in rooms, and no wild partying can happen on the property either. It does, however, offer a good time at a budget price, surrounded by tropical palms on a beautiful powdery white sand beach. The buffet restaurant serves up a wide variety of dishes, and there are also themed international restaurants and live cooking shows, included in the all-inclusive packages. Guests can also enjoy swimming in the freshwater pool set right next to the sea, and indulging in a variety of treatments and massage at the Renova Spa. Entertainment is offered daily and includes dancing, live music and shows.
If the children are too young to care that the famous golfing duel in Goldfinger, starring Sean Connery, was filmed here, they can find plenty of other advantages, from a well-equipped games room, outdoor play area, mini football pitch, dedicated times in the pool, tennis lessons and special fitness classes to children’s menus in all three restaurants. In the bedrooms, expect to find activity packs, themed bed linen and personalised cookies at bedtime. Babysitting is also available. Read expert review
Best Parks & Gardens: Some of the most beautiful spots can often be found in the city’s gardens and parks. Not only will you get a chance to admire spectacular blooms, there are also sculptures, lakes, water fountains and interactive features for kids. If you are planning to propose on vacation, parks are often the perfect choice.
Coworth Park is the only hotel in Britain to have its own polo club and fields; the equine theme dominates activities and décor, but there’s also biking and tennis to balance all the riding. Coworth Park Kids’ club is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday (£25 per day), and there’s a teen den with games room, and designated children’s hours at the pool. Grown-ups will love the Michelin-starred restaurant. Big families should go for the Dower House, a private, Grade II-listed, three-bedroomed cottage. Read expert review
Due to its acquisitions of Marvel Entertainment in 2009 and Lucasfilm in 2012, some Disney-owned franchises are represented in its competitors’ parks. Marvel Super Hero Island, a themed land featuring characters and settings from Marvel Comics, has operated at Universal Orlando Resort’s Islands of Adventure park since 1999, as well as the Islands of Adventure cloned ride The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man at Universal Studios Japan since 2004. Under Marvel’s 1994 agreement with Universal Parks & Resorts in regional terms, none of the Marvel characters and other persons related to such characters (e.g., side characters, team members, and the villains associated with the Avengers, Fantastic Four, X-Men, Spider-Man, etc.) connected with Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios Japan can be used at Walt Disney World and Tokyo Disney Resort.[89] Disneyland Resort, Walt Disney World, and Tokyo Disney also cannot use the Marvel name as part of an attraction or marketing and the Marvel-themed simulator ride.[90] This clause has allowed Walt Disney World to have meet and greets with Marvel characters not associated with the ones at Islands of Adventure, such as Star-Lord and Gamora from Guardians of the Galaxy[91][92] as well as Baymax and Hiro from Big Hero 6.[93] Hong Kong Disneyland, Shanghai Disneyland, and Disneyland Paris either have or planned to incorporate meet and greets as well as attractions relating to the Marvel characters, as well as using the Marvel name and the Marvel simulator ride.
The Walt Disney World Resort opened October 1, 1971, in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, with the Magic Kingdom theme park and three resort hotels. It expanded with the opening of Epcot in 1982, Disney-MGM Studios (now Disney’s Hollywood Studios) and Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon in 1989, Disney’s Blizzard Beach in 1995, Disney’s Animal Kingdom in 1998, Disney Springs retail, dining, and entertainment complex, eight golf courses, and 18 new resort hotels. The resort is the largest (by area) and most-visited vacation resort in the world, with four theme parks, two water parks, a shopping, dining, and entertainment complex, 21 resort hotels, eight golf courses, and several additional recreational activities, and covers 27,258 acres of land. It is the flagship of the worldwide Disney parks and resorts.
Also in Hawaii: the Aulani Disney Resort and Spa, which not only has 5,200-square-foot supervised kids club (called Aunty’s Beach House) with a costume closet and “magical portals,” but also a teen spa that offers an acai-bowl bar and treatments designed for older kids. Across the country, at the Sagamore Resort on Lake George in New York, activities range from the typical lakeside fun to games held in a massive rec center.
As for terra firma, beautiful Atlantic beaches await, along with wildlife at the Canaveral National Seashore, a beautiful barrier island National Park. And even if you’re not shipping out for a cruise, you and your family can marvel at large luxurious ships from Grills Seafood Deck, a family-friendly and casual venue.
Hawaiian culture and natural resources are the main sources of entertainment at this ride-free Disney resort. Located on a crescent of white sand along Oahu’s western shore, Aulani caters specifically to vacationing families. Spacious, minimalist rooms incorporate charming touches like a surf-happy Mickey carved into a wooden lamp base. Restaurants offer casual kid-friendly fare as well as upscale dining for when a babysitter is on duty. Outdoor adventures abound, including swimming with stingrays, watersliding through lava rock into the swimming pools, snorkeling lessons, and paddleboarding. There’s not only a supervised children’s club for guests ages 3 to 12, but also a teen spa that offers DIY body-polish workshops and treatments for boys as well as girls. Surf parties by the pool feature special appearances by Disney characters, and there are nighttime screenings of Disney classics.

Disney’s Village Resort — Became the Villas at Disney Institute and then Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa. The “Tree House” Villas were decommissioned for a time because they were not accessible to disabled guests. Until early 2008, they were used for International Program Cast Member housing. In February 2008, Disney submitted plans to the South Florida Water Management District to replace the 60 existing villas with 60 new villas.[28] The Treehouse Villas opened during the summer of 2009.
First time in New York City with kids. They are ages 9 and 11. We have 4 full days and plan to do the main sights: Central Park, a Broadway Show, the Natural History Museum, Times Square, and a few other things. We’ve tentatively decided on something within the triangle north of Times Square.

Summer is in full swing in July, but there’s still time to plan a getaway. Family trips are on the agenda for some, and others just want to escape the heat or do something fun and different. We have a few suggestions for travelers who wish for cool weather, including snow in the southern hemisphere ski destination of Chile. If warm breezes, an ocean swim, and a lounge chair in the sand mean summer vacation to you, Hawaii beckons with all that and enticing restaurants too. July in Fiji also offers warmth, luxury, and unrivaled diving and snorkeling.
On January 21, 2016, the resort’s management structure was changed, with general managers within a theme park being in charge of an area or land, instead of on a functional basis as previously. Theme parks have already had a vice-president overseeing them. Disney Springs and Disney Sports were also affected. Now hotel general managers manage a single hotel instead of some managing multiple hotels.[13]

Located on the Italian island’s northwest coast, Palermo is the capital of Sicily. Founded by the Phoenicians and dominated through the centuries by the Greeks, Arabs, Normans, and Italians, the city was one of Europe’s most prosperous centers. Its diverse history is apparent today in its art, architecture, cathedrals, customs, language, and even its cuisine. Outdoor markets, crowded alleys, and street food such as arancine and panelle make strolling the city the perfect way to explore. Each July, Palermo celebrates the Festa di Santa Rosalia, the city’s biggest festival, honoring the saint for having saved the city from the 17th-century plague. This year’s 394th celebration begins on July 14 with a procession led by Palermo’s mayor with St. Rosalia’s relics carried in a decorated chariot. Fireworks, music, dance, food, and thousands of celebrants create an exciting event that should be on your travel wish list.
While summer is in full swing in the northern hemisphere, it’s winter south of the equator. For travelers who can’t wait to get onto their snowboards or skis, a trip to Chile could be just the thing, especially if they’d like to brag about skiing down the side of a volcano. Several popular resorts, Portillo, El Colorado, and Valle Nevado are just hours away from Santiago, and there’s more to Chile in July than snow. Excellent wine is produced in Chile, waiting to be sampled along with their outstanding meat and seafood cuisine. Hiking and mountain biking attract visitors for outdoor adventures, and with clear skies and little light pollution, many stargazing sites are popular with tourists as well. Admirers of art, architecture, history, and shopping will find lots to enjoy in Santiago.
Until now, Zambia has had little recognition as one of Africa’s great safari destinations. Yet experts know it as the birthplace of the walking safari — as well as the home of some of the most highly trained guides on the continent. In South Luangwa National Park, visitors can expect to see more animals than baobab trees, while Liuwa Plain National Park is the setting for the world’s second-largest wildebeest migration, when tens of thousands of the creatures head across the plain from neighboring Angola. Last year saw the arrival of Liuwa’s first permanent camp: King Lewanika Lodge, a six-villa safari lodge overlooking a watering hole where hyenas and antelope gather. —Mary Holland
A Family Zion & Bryce Hiking adventure begins in Bryce Canyon National Park, where you’ll hike to the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. The Staircase is actually a set of plateaus that lead to Lower Calf Creek Falls, where a green oasis has formed around the falling water. This is a great place to see Native American pictographs and granaries and learn about their culture. As you hike on to Zion National Park, you’ll see “hoodoos,” bright red, orange and white spires, some of which are over 200 feet tall. Legend says they were formed when ancient people behaved badly, drawing down a curse that turned them into stones. Take a refreshing dip in the Virgin River, and hike The Narrows, a stretch along the river considered one of the best hikes in the country.
When Easter falls in April (April 16 In 2017), visitors can enjoy the fantastic hats that strollers show off for the annual Easter Parade on Fifth Avenue between 49th and 57th streets. Even the dogs don bonnets for the occasion. The parade runs from around 10 a.m. to mid-afternoon.
Bar Harbor offers swimming, like the freshwater beach at Echo Lake (with calm waves good for kids). Follow the signs labeled “Museum in the Streets” to take your own walking tour, and you can also find trails for hiking, walking, and cycling. At nearby Acadia National Park, enjoy hiking, camping, and coastline views.
